Patchworks
Founded in Brighton by electronic musicians James Eve and Ahmed Abdelaziz to put on events for like-minded electronic musicians.
It soon formed into a collective/scene and, joined by Richard Riggs, we established the Patchworks label, releasing music both digitally and on cassette.
Inspired by a more punk/DIY approach to electronics by artists such as Barelife and Massive Luxury Overdose, we put out Metronomic Underground, a compilation of local artists who had a distinctly punk/DIY approach to electronics, and whose performance style was often more in your face than the typical behind-a-laptop electronic musician. This went a long way to cementing the Patchworks sound and ethos.
Today our roster includes some incredible musicians from around the world covering a wide sonic spectrum of electronic music. Our events and brand continue to thrive in the Brighton and wider UK music scene, and our Metronomic Underground and album releases have captured the attention of UK audiences and media alike.
